At tonight's game 3 of the World Series, Glee sang the National Anthem. They did a phenomenal job. Their harmonies were awesome. Are you a Glee fan?

Check out photos, reviews and behind the scenes coverage of the NYC concerts from the last couple of nights with legendary acts including Aretha Franklin, U2, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Simon and Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder and much more.
It happened again. Christopher was in the bottom 3 again and didn't get eliminated. It's quite the strange phenomenon. It was a fascinating challenge. I have to say I didn't expect Althea to win and was shocked by Irina's accusations on the runway. Wild stuff.
Evanston, IL native Zach Gilford, who plays quarterback Matt Saracen, on Friday Night Lights was a special guest at the Chicago Blackhawks game tonight. He participated in a few shots on goal during the intermission. He was interviewed between each shot and as adorable as he is on the show he is even more endearing in reality. Very cool.
Just saw Foreigner last night. I usually don't go to see bands where the lead singer is no longer with the group (no more Lou Gramm as lead vocalist) and the only original member appeared to be Mick Jones. Nonetheless, it was a really fun show. They played their greatest hits and the current lead singer who has been with them for over 5 years has an excellent voice and is very similar in sound to Lou Gramm. It was fun hearing their classic songs like Cold As Ice, Urgent, Feels Like The First Time, and Juke Box Hero (with Whole Lotta Love thrown in for good measure). It wasn't about experimenting or re-arranging the tunes, just straight ahead rock. They did sing 2 new songs from a newly released 3-CD set at Walmart which sounded exactly like 80's era Foreigner, but otherwise they stuck to the hits and rocked out!
The original Twilight movie will be re-released in theatres on November 19, for one day, the day before the sequel New Moon comes out. Back to back Twilight viewings could be pretty cool. Side point, but back in the day I once watched Lethal Weapon 1 and 2 on video and then on the same day went to go see Lethal Weapon 3. Lots of fun, but I digress. Are you a Twilight fan?
U2's concert on Sunday night from the Rose Bowl was watched by close to 10 million people via You Tube's webcast. That is huge. Check it out.
Apparently, lots of people are. Last night's game 1 ratings between the Phillies and the Yankees were way up over last year. Fun fact: last night Lorne Michaels and Alec Baldwin were sitting in the front row right behind home plate. Tonight -- Andy Samberg is in the front row behind home plate.
Ok, so there is a similar phenomenon to Project Runway happening on Top Chef. Robin has been in the bottom several times (much like Christopher on Project Runway) and people who have rarely been in the bottom, such as Mike I are getting eliminated. Very strange. Any thoughts as to why?
Just heard that NBC cancelled the new show Trauma. I'm a couple episodes behind, but I liked the show. The episodes that I saw were pretty intense. One of main characters was on the show Damages (on F/X). I think F/X should pick up the show and make it even more intense and disturbing...
Just saw the anime movie Evangelion last night. The animation was great and the story line was very cool. The actual dialogue was a bit silly and repetitive. I haven't seen much anime so I'm not sure if that's the way anime is - my guess is that the dialogue is secondary to the graphics and plot - kind of like an action movie. It was fun to watch even though it moved slowly in a few parts.
Michael Jackson's This Is It is released today in theatres as well as a companion CD. I just received the CD from Amazon today and it's basically a greatest hits CD with one new song, "This Is It" in 2 versions plus an extra CD with 3 demo tracks of previous hits and a spoken word poem, entitled "Planet Earth". The CDs are packaged nicely and includes an accompanying booklet with scenes from the movie, but nothing really new on it. The coolest part are the demo tracks - you get to hear the origins of songs like Beat It and Wanna Be Startin' Something.
I'll be seeing the movie this week and will post my review soon!
Expect some great stories - the always charming Courtney Cox (star of funny Cougar Town mentioned earlier) will be the first guest on Letterman tonight.
Ozzie Guillen, the full of personality manager of the White Sox will do pre and post game analysis for the World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees, airing on Fox. Check it out.
The Ricketts Family officially took over ownership of the Cubs today. There will be a press conference on Friday. Read more about it here.
Th increasingly funny Cougar Town is going to get even funnier. Lisa Kudrow is set to guest star, joining fellow Friends star and current Cougar Town star Courtney Cox, for an episode later this season. Click here for the details.

Ricky Gervais who co-created he British version of the The Office, and executive produces the American version, will host the Golden Globes airing January 17. He is most definitely a wacky guy so it should make for an interesting night. Check it out.
Bravo has announced that there will be a Top Chef spin-off focusing on pastry chefs called: Top Chef: Just Desserts. Sounds like there will be lots of Top Chef type programming going on on Bravo. Very cool. Read all about it.
Just watched the most recent epidode of House and I think it was one of the best. This season has been really good and the writing is excellent.
House: "I'm picking lint from my belly...I wasn't picking lint from my belly".
If you saw it you know it was funny!

Joel McHale has been ubiquitous lately and it has paid off. His new show Community, along with Amy Poehler's Parks and Recreation and the show Mercy have all been picked up for the full season by NBC. Click here to read all about it. Are you a fan of any of these shows?
Maroon 5 have been in Switzerland working on their next album. They are taking some time out for a tour of college campuses in the U.S. Check out details of their new album and upcoming concerts here.
Ok, so I know I said this last week but now it's just getting insane. Christopher, who I do like, was in the bottom again and didn't get voted out. Something just doesn't make sense. And Irina continues to dominate. Milla Jovovich as guest judge was really fun and cool - seems like she'd be a lot of fun to hang out with.
There will be a second season of Top Chef Masters. Very exciting! Check it out.
The Grateful Dead will be featured in an exhibit at the New York Historical Society next year. Last night, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir were honorees at an event previewing the exhibit and they also performed at the small gathering of 300 people. Pretty cool. Click here to read all about the exhibit and their performance.
Shocking episode last night. I totally thought the team that lost would have won restaurant wars. Wild that every one's dishes fell apart. Kevin's domination came to a halt. Hopefully just a brief pause in his otherwise solid execution. And the other team's almost every dish rocked. Just when you thought the sibling rivalry couldn't get anymore intense, it does.
Great episode last night - love the bickering between Liz and Kimber - hysterical! Add to that another wild patient storyline, craziness with Christian, and a hint of someone from Teddy's past that will undoubtedly be revealed in the weeks to come and you have yourself a Nip/Tuck Par-tay!
The lineup for the October 29th and 30th concerts for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary at Madison Square Garden keeps getting better and better: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Crosby Stills Nash & Friends, U2, Ozzy Osbourne will perform with Metallica, Buddy Guy will perform with Eric Clapton, B.B. King will perform with Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox and Lenny Kravitz are performing with Aretha Franklin. Click here for more info on the concerts.
The CW gave a full season pick-up to new hit show, Vampire Diaries. While Melrose Place did not got the full season, they did get 5 more shows which is good considering the new series has been struggling. Click here for all the details.
If you are a fan of the Biggest Loser and trainer, Jillian, then this is for you. Jillian will star in her own reality series titled "Losing It With Jillian" in which she travels around the country helping people make lifestyle changes to show that it can be done outside of the confines of the ranch on Biggest Loser. For more details, click here.
Great show last night - lots of storylines. Martha Plimpton was great as opposing counsel. Lots of funny jabs back and forth as they were trying to settle the case. Josh Charles is fantastic as Will, the tough head partner who doesn't trust his other partner, Christine Baranski.
Just saw the movie "We Live in Public" - it's a totally fascinating account of an early internet entrepeneur/visionary/mad genius. It's really incredible to see his predictions about the future of computing and the internet come true before the internet broke through to the mainstream. It's truly mind boggling (and disturbing) to watch his social experiments fusing people, technology and the internet come to life and later descend into a downward spiral. Run to this movie!

Total shout out to Chicago in this episode. The flashbacks to Ted and Marshall's road trips were ridiculously hilarious. Lily coming along and be oh so Lily -amusing. Lily and Marshall at the bed and breakfast spa - classic!

The new cast has been revealed and includes some of your favorite GenX icons: Cyndi Lauper and Poision's (and VH1 Rock of Love's) Bret Michaels, and 21 Jump Street star Holly Robinson Peete. Former Governor Rod Blagojevich may also be a part of the show. For the full list of cast members, click here.
80s Flashback: Remember playing "Bring on the Dancing Horses" by Echo and the Bunnymen off of the Pretty in Pink soundtrack over and over? (I sure do). They just came out with a new album and rocked NYC. Check out the review.
Is it me or is this the mildest Fast Forward that they have had in a while? Usually, it's something really out there and challenging that both team members have to do and this time only one of them had to do it and he was super excited. Interesting to see the change in the game. As always, the scenery of all of the places they are visiting is just amazing and it is awesome to learn about each destination.
Just saw Law Abiding Citizen with Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler. I thought it was a very good suspense/thriller. You have to suspend some belief but the movie is quick paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are some intense scenes that will have you squirming (or screaming).

Check out this intriguing article on the film and television universe of J.J. Abrams. It's like one huge family. Pretty cool.
Things are heating up as the sibling rivalry between Brian and Michael V. has gone up a notch and Eli (and Mike I and others) and Robin are not getting along. One thing remains constant -- Kevin continues to dominate. I can't remember a chef dominating on previous seasons as much as Kevin has.
Interestingly, 2 cast members from Nip/Tuck, who played husband and wife, Kelly Carlson (Kimber) and John Schneider are now on Melrose Place and 90210 respectively. Their new roles appear to be made for them as they play not so nice characters in all their glory.
Marin Hinkle, who plays Alan's ex-wife Judith on Two and a Half Men, appeared on Law and Order this week as a defense attorney. I know, really random right? She did a pretty good job. It was so weird not seeing her as bitter Judith.
Cool that Bob Mackie and Christina Aguilera were on the show and judges. The reactions of some of the designers to being in front of Bob Mackie were awesome. Here's the week's puzzler: how is it that Christopher has been in the bottom 3 - 3 weeks in a row and doesn't get voted off? I like him but from the competition standpoint - it doesn't make sense.
I'm virtually speechless about the premiere of Nip/Tuck's new season. They kicked up the show another notch while maintaining outrageous story lines, crazy surgeries, etc. BUT, the greatest part of the episode (mild spoiler) has to be Matt deciding he wants to be a mime and the scene on the beach!
Long live Nip/Tuck!
I've always been a fan of Thomas Dolby. This past summer he re-issued 2 of his CDs with bonus material. Also, he blogs regularly on his official site (below) and is working on new material!

The most recent bachelorette, Jillian, is at the Chicago Blackhawks game tonight with her fiance, Ed. Yes, they appear to still be together. During an intermission, she was given 3 shots on the goal but didn't come too close. She was laughing the whole time so it was good to see she still has her sense of humor.
John Mayer's video for the song "Who Says" just came out. This the first single off his upcoming album, Battle Studies, which is due to hit stores November 17.
Cool twists and ending to the show. Did you guess who was handing that envelope to juror no. 11? Interesting cliffhanger -- do you think she should testify?
Marshall and Lily dating another couple- too funny! Marshall's picture / song montages - not to be believed. How hilarious was that? Barney's freak out at the end - brilliant. If you do not watch this show (you know who you are) you must start watching!
If you miss the show 'Friends' like I do, then you will be happy to know that half of the Friends cast will be back on TV. Yeah! First, Courtney Cox came back in the show Cougar Town which we have discussed. Then as mentioned previously, it was announced Matt LeBlanc will star in a Showtime show. Now, Matthew Perry is set to come back and star in a show he is developing. Very exciting. Check out all the details.
I'm a huge Daryl Hall and John Oates fan, so I'm eagerly awaiting this box set:
Do What You Want, Be What You Are:The Music of Daryl Hall & John Oates [BOX SET]
Ultimate Christmas Collection by The Jackson 5
Not a huge fan of Bob Dylan, but found it interesting that he's releasing a Christmas album:
Christmas In the Heart by Bob Dylan
Songs from Lonely Avenue by Brian Setzer Orchestra
The Blackhawks were losing tonight 5 to 0 in the first period and came back to win the game in overtime 6 to 5. Unbelievable to watch!
The show, starring Joseph Fiennes, has been doing well and ABC has decided to move ahead with a full season. Check it out:
How funny was Tom getting drunk at that client dinner- trying to cover for Lynette not being able to have the client's wine? And then when he turns to Gabi and says the most inappropriate thing ever with the preface -I hope this doesn't come out wrong... LOL funny!
Michael Jackson's new song, "This Is It" leaked on the internet and is being officially release tonight in digital format (itunes, amazon, etc.) or check out MichaelJackson.com at 12am (midnight) EST.
"This Is It" is now streaming at E! Online:
Michael Jackson's This Is It
Overall, I like the song and think it's fitting for MJ's "last" song. It has an old school sound to it and an "unpolished" feel unlike most of MJ's recent studio work...What do you think?
As Bender has pointed out, Cougar Town has been getting better with each week. The show is fast paced with a lot of funny things going on. This week the scenes on the land boat were highlights! Check out the details on the full season pick-up:
The judges were pretty rough again but the funniest part was that Heidi kept referencing Oktoberfest which is currently going on. And this season was filmed over a year ago.
I have to say I am a bit surprised. While I am a huge Vince Vaughn fan, I did not think this movie looked like it would have a huge $35 million opening weekend. Check out the other top movies this weekend: http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/
Kevin is dominating- it is wild. And he seems like such a good guy. The Eli / Ashley situation was intriguing. Doesn't it seems like she got blamed for what wasn't her fault and he - who has been in the bottom of several competitions - is just getting by?
Been listening to Bruce Hornsby's latest CD Levitate and I really like it. It's hard to describe - it's got a jazz/rock/world/revival feel to it. VERY different from his hit songs like "The Way It Is", "Mandolin Rain", etc. It has flavors of Dave Matthews, Rod Stewart, Tom Petty, Steely Dan and The Beatles. Some songs sound very experimental and a little out there, but as a whole it works.
House is a great show and while it hit a few bumps in past seasons, the new season is off to a great start. The pilot episode was genius! The recent episode with House taking on cooking was hysterical. If you don't watch the show (and you know who you are) you must pick this up immediately!
Remember when you just couldn't get enough of the Eight is Enough drama? Check out a pre-Charles in Charge Willie Aames and a whole lot more:
Very interesting case this week. I like the way they weave in Julianna Margulies' old friends and how they have been totally unsupportive since the scandal with her husband broke. The other junior associate Cary is definitely not the greatest colleague - very sneaky. Josh Charles and Christine Baranski are a delight. The flashbacks of the seemingly perfect, happy couple pre-scandal are very interesting- showing that things are not always what they seem.
Were you a fan of all things Clark Griswold back in 1983? Well, a sequel to Vacation is in the works which will focus on his son. David Dobkin who produced and directed Wedding Crashers will produce and possibly direct the film. Click here for all the details:
Awesome season finale. The Matt Damon scenes were hilarious. The one that ran after the credits - I have an Oscar and I am calling you... LOL funny. Ari with the paint gun - outrageous fun. Ari's new agency, Eric's engagement shocker and the rest of the boys off to Italy should make for a fun new season.
How funny was HIMYM last night? Ted teaching Barney about Robin in a college setting - too genius! Barney and his -how do you spell bla bla bla with or without the h - hysterical! Marshall with Mable - love it - so Marshall.
"He Jason Bourned me"...Drama to Vince while on the phone with Matt Damon who demanded to speak to a pretending to not be there Vince.
Sonic Boom by KISS (exclusively at Wal-Mart)
Love 2 by Air
Devil's Halo by Me'shell NdegeOcello
Rio re-release by Duran Duran
Wicked Wonderland by Lita Ford!
Out on DVD...
Nip Tuck, Season Five, Part 2
Ally McBeal: The Complete Series - never seen it, but I heard it was huge ;)
Contact (with Jodie Foster) on Blu-Ray
Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Series Collection
Charlie Brown Christmas on Blu-ray
Just saw Zombieland - great, fun flick! The whole cast is perfect and they had a great mix of comedy and gore. Yes, there was A LOT of gore and it was over the top. The movie had some great scenes and one-liners (including a great cameo I won't spoil) as well as some funny 80s/90s references. Woody Harrelson rocks!
Tyra Banks will be guest starring on tonight's episode of Gossip Girl. Hilary Duff also stars on what is sure to be a fun and scandalous episode.
Did you catch Curb Your Enthusiasm last night with the cast of Seinfeld? It was pretty funny -- George and Larry David sparring over the tip and Elaine and Larry fighting over a birthday party were highlights of the old Seinfeld nothingness that was talked about and became the actual storyline. Should be interesting to see how the "Reunion" which Larry is concocting on the show will unfold.
Remember when every Saturday night was a visit to fantasy island always being greeted with, "The plane, the plane" and "smiles everyone, smiles" ? Well, your favorite island is back with a reality twist. Check it out: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118009569.html?categoryid=14&cs=1
Zombieland starring Woody Harrelson is the no. 1 movie this weekend. Incidentally, Woody Harrelson was Letterman's first guest the night of his big reveal. Check out the other top movies this weekend: http://boxofficemojo.com/
Such a great show. Just saw the first episode of the new season. Incredible the way they read people's faces and then show matching expressions from actual pictures in the real world depicting the same emotions -- it is awesome. Great cast including Tim Roth, Kelli Williams and Mekhi Phifer. It's on after House on Mondays. Check it out.
Is it me or do the judges seem like they are getting much harsher on the designers? They are just tearing into them -- these judges are not messing around. I felt so bad for Christopher as he stood there but was glad he wasn't eliminated. Always interesting watching the dynamics when there are team challenges -- did not expect Irina to win at all given their team interaction but you just never know!
Quite the turn of events today. All the momentum for the 2016 Olympics seemed to be heading Chicago's way but, after an early first round defeat, the vote went to Rio. People seem really stunned.
Watched episode 2 and I have to say it's very funny. Very clever and witty writing.
I was laughing out loud at "monster"!
