Fascinating stuff. Just read an article in the New York Times on a field that neuroscientists are studying called connectomics. They are trying to figure out how memories, personality traits and skills are stored in the brain by finding out the connectome, or mental makeup, of a person. The researchers know this is going to be a long process that may or may not be successful. Ultimately, if they succeed, the neuroscientists say this would give a ton of insights into the brain's function and be especially helpful when exploring mental illness.
