Did you watch? I thought Jimmy Fallon's opening was really hilarious and fun to watch with all of the special guest stars and music. His medley of songs to series that ended this year was also pretty funny, especially when he dressed up as Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day saying good bye to Lost. What did you think?
The Last Exorcism came in at no. 1 with just over $21 million this weekend. Takers was a close no. 2 with $21 million. Avatar: Special Edition released this weekend with extra footage made $4 million in just 812 theatres.
If you have a Netflix account (or want one)...Netflix released a free app to stream select movies from its catalog to iPhones and iPads - very cool!
I just started watching Breaking Bad Season 1 (just a couple episodes in) and it's fantastic! I'll have to catch up before Season 4 starts in 2011!
will be on NPR this hour. She is so talented and fascinating. Once saw her in concert many years ago and she was very unhappy that her sound was not as perfect as she wanted and was very vocal about it at the show. But I digress. If you want to hear her talk about her music, check it out this hour or the podcast later.
Just saw Brandon Flowers last night in concert (lead singer of The Killers). He played songs from his new solo album, a couple songs from The Killers, and a cover of Kim Carnes' Bette Davis Eyes!
Very fun show even though it was short (about an hour).
Kit from the first season of MTV's Road Rules? Well, she will be co-hosting a new show, Access Hollywood Live, with current Access anchor Billy Bush. How wild is that? Check it out.

Have you heard about this new app? Wild stuff. The app, Shopkick, tracks you entering a store, where you are in the store and offers you bargains and promotions as you walk throughout the aisles and even in and out of dressing rooms.
First of all, I am really liking this season. Lots of great storylines going on. Vince and Ari are both in fascinating places. And a Lenny Kravitz cameo - that was quite awesome!
It has been reported that next summer will be the last season for Entourage with a shortened 6 episode season. There is a possibility that a movie will be made.
How cool is this? A camp to teach teenage girls all about navigating "Girlworld". Great idea and sounds like a wonderful experience for all involved.

Gen X Nostalgia ruled the box office this weekend. Brian May, guitarist and songwriter for Queen (he wrote "We Will Rock You"), will be on NPR's Fresh Air today. He just got his Ph.D. in Astophysics and cowrote a book called A Village Lost and Found about his stereograph collection. Fascinating. For more on May, click here.
Just came across this random 1970s trivia. Paul Michael Glaser, arguably best known for his role as Dave Starsky in the 1970s tv series Starsky and Hutch, made his feature film debut in the 1971 musical film Fiddler on the Roof. He was billed as Michael Glaser and had lots of dancing scenes.
So, the new rumor is that the lineup of judges will be:

-Randy Jackson
What do you think about those apples?
Just saw Repo Men with Jude Law and Forest Whitaker and it was so-so. The concept is interesting - people can replace their ailing body parts/organs with artificial ones. The catch is that if/when you can't pay the monthly installments (they cost almost $1 million) the repo men come to take the organs back. It was very dark and had all the cool sci-fi elements you want in a film like this, but a couple key plot points about half way into the movie kinda made the movie lose it's momentum and I found it dragging. Also, I'm not against violence in movies, but there were some scenes that were just too gory and way over the top.
Check out this list of new dorm room gadgets. If only they had these when I was in college. So cool. Among my favorites, a remote controlled drink cooler - no need to walk to the fridge when you can have a cooler with your drinks come to you; Post my Pillow-- a pillow that you can jot water soluble notes on so you can see them as soon as you wake up; a fridge locker so no one can take your food. What's your favorite?
For the third week in a row, Inception was the number 1 movie at the box office taking in over $27 million for a total of $193 domestically and $364 million worldwide. New release Dinner For Schmucks came in at no. 2 with just over $23 million. It actually had a better per screen average than Inception but was showing in less theatres. In its second week out, Salt took in another $19 million bringing its domestic total to $71 million and worldwide total to $103 million. In other new releases, Charlie St. Cloud and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore each took in just over $12 million for the weekend.
Born in the 70s, they grew up together. They are both fascinated by all things pop culture. They are into tv, movies and music from comedies to dramas to rock.
