Just saw the fascinating movie, The King's Speech. Great acting by Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, Guy Pearce and Helena Bonham Carter. Set in historical times in the 1930s this movie has it all: friendship, royalty, privilege, social status, war time, family drama, and personal struggles. Very well directed- I totally understand why it is getting so much praise during this awards season. So different from The Social Network which won best picture at the Golden Globes. With both lead contenders for the Oscar, it will be interesting to see what happens.
